Rollout SAP project. Migration from 1s to SAP for the Russian market
Client: Italian luxury goods company
Project duration: 2020 - 2021.
Project description before getting started:
The customer was running its accounting in RF in two parallel systems: Global SAP + 1c. As a result, users had to perform the same actions twice.
Task:
Audit of current processes (logistics, finance, point of sale operations, RF tax and accounting reporting, etc.), systems in use (ERP, 1c accounting, POS, etc.), integrations between systems, including with Bulgari's global systems. Provide an audit report with a full description of the current processes. Make recommendations to optimise the processes, landscape and systems used.
It was done:
Conducted a series of face-to-face working meetings and interviews with both the client's global team based in Rome and those based in Moscow. Based on the results of the interviews, an audit report was produced. The report included recommendations for process and system improvements. The report included several recommended scenarios of varying complexity. These ranged from improvements to the existing systems to abandonment of the 1C system and complete migration to global SAP.
The result:
A full migration scenario to SAP for the Russian market was selected as a result of a joint discussion with the client on the audit report.
For the implementation phase, a contract was signed. A project team was formed. The client's transition to a unified accounting system was implemented in 2020. From 2021, the client will fully migrate all operations to SAP and completely abandon the 1C system. This allowed the client to eliminate the costs of support and development of the local system, to perform daily operations in only one system and not to duplicate them as before in 1C. This project also helped to increase the transparency of the Russian business unit for the global audit.
The client and Forays signed an SAP support and development contract after the migration project was completed. This is set to run until 2023.
